Come see the Klezmatics perform in Oslo, Norway for the Oslo Jazz Festival!
The Klezmatics is one of the world's leading klezmer bands, bringing back popularity to traditional Jewish music when the band was formed in 1986.
While the music of The Klezmatics is primarily sung in Yiddish, they have also recorded music in other languages, including their Grammy award-winning album Wonder Wheel. The groundbreaking album featured previously unperformed lyrics by the folk songwriter Woody Guthrie, which were then taken in and given a beautiful composition written by The Klezmatics. The band often addresses topics related to social change and speaks of the oppressed in their songs.
Both original, former, and current members have different musical backgrounds, which contribute to a varied, wide, and vivid musical genres in their music.
We look forward to presenting this great band on Cosmopolite as the very first Klezmer band at the Oslo Jazz Festival.
