Future Forward | Repertoire Program

An evening of eclectic repertoire by today’s most inspired choreographers representing ballet for the 21st century. This exhilarating program features the New York Premiere of Resident Choreographer Robert Garland’s latest work that links past with future, weaving together the Company’s neoclassical and “soulful justice” heritage in a breathtaking new ballet, and three New York Premieres by women who move us: set to an evocative score by Jessie Montgomery, Claudia Schreier’s Passage offers a moving reflection on the fortitude of the human spirit, created in recognition of the 400th anniversary of the arrival of enslaved Africans to Virginia in 1619; originally created for DTH and Miami City Ballet, Pam Tanowitz’s unique collaboration features DTH dancers Stephanie Rae Williams and Anthony Santos with New York City Ballet’s Ashley Bouder and Anthony Huxley in the luscious and mysterious Gustave Le Gray No. 1; and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa brings a richly expanded version of her Fall for Dance hit Balamouk.
