Wednesday at 8 with Lisa feat. Rod MacDonald & Emma's Revolution

In honor of Passover, I am very excited to announce that this week's episode of "Wednesday's at 8 with Lisa" will have special guests Rod MacDonald and Emma's Revolution! Both Rod and Emma's Revolution have centered their music around their activism, and I believe that Passover is the perfect time to sing and discuss issues of injustice, and celebrate freedom from oppression!

Due to the new Zoom regulations, I will have to password lock the Zoom stream. Please message me on Facebook to get the info. If you can’t make it to the Zoom, you can always tune in to watch it on my Facebook page using Facebook Live!

Emma's Revolution is the dynamic, award-winning activist duo of Pat Humphries & Sandy O, whose songs have been sung for the Dalai Lama, praised by Pete Seeger and covered by Holly Near . . . and they couldn’t love Lisa Gutkin any more than they already do!
"Fervent and heartfelt" - The New York Times.
"The powers that be can control the media but it’s hard to stop a good song... Pat's songs will be sung well into the 22nd century." - Pete Seeger (All Things Considered, NPR)

American singer-songwriter, novelist, and educator, Rod MacDonald was a "big part of the 1980s folk revival and co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival. He is perhaps best known for his songs "American Jerusalem", about the "contrast between the rich and the poor in Manhattan" (Sing Out!), and "A Sailor's Prayer" and his songs have been covered by Dave Van Ronk, Shawn Colvin, Four Bitchin' Babes, Jonathan Edwards, Garnet Rogers, Joe Jencks, and others. His 1985 recording "White Buffalo" is dedicated to Lakota Sioux ceremonial chief and healer Frank Fools Crow, whom he visited in 1981 and 1985, and who appears with MacDonald in the cover photograph.
